There is a saying when you are working on the internet is that you want to get out in front of the traffic.  Well, right now, that traffic is on Facebook!

Here is an excerpt from the clip:

Move over google,  there’s a new kid in town. Social networking site Facebook has surpassed the internet search giant becoming the most visited website.

According to internet traffic tracker Hit Wise recording a massive 185% year over year increase Facebook is taking more than a 7% chunk of all US internet traffic the week ending March 13th.

Facebook had previously topped google on a daily basis but never over an entire week’s time. Taken together google and facebook swallow 14% of internet traffic in the United States.

The hit number applies only to a side by side comparison of facebook.com and google.com and does not include google’s other properties such as g mail, google maps and youtube.

Still there’s no denying facebook’s growing clout over the web!

 It’s a big deal.

What is your takeaway from this post?

Well if you have just been thinking about a Facebook Fan Page, I would stop.  Remember…get in front of the traffic. So, there isn’t anything to think about.  You need a Facebook Fan Page!
