You may not know it to look at me now, but believe it or not, I work out 3-5 times a week. I started back in December and I am seeing a difference in how my clothes fit and also my endurance.
But I digress. Like alot of you who are reading this, I have a gym membership. So far everything is cool. But last week when I came in, I saw the following sign in the lobby…
I am not saying this is a bad thing to advertise that you have a facebook page. But you know what.???
Help us be a fan by putting the link in your message!
More bugs and wishes!
Yes, it really bugs me when you tell me you want me to go somewhere and you don’t make it easy for me to do so! My wish is that you help yourself by making it easy for me to be the raving advocate I would probably be if I knew how to find your page.
Not putting the link into your post only hurts you in the end!
You went through the time and trouble to create a call to action in asking me to be a fan (but it could be anything that you want me to do). But if it is going to be hard to be a fan, there are so many other pages out there that will attract me and I will forget that I was ever interested in your product or service.
This just isn’t limited to fan pages! I was in a meeting today where a blog post told about this seminar that was going on and told the reader to register right away. Only 1 problem. Not only wasn’t there a link, upon calling the organization, they didn’t even have the page created!
It really bugs me when you think everyone knows all the acronyms that are related to your niche/industry. I wish that you would take into consideration that not everyone is on your level.
This is even more exaberated when someone has little terms that only they understand. If you are not speaking to your audiences level, you are losing them. Plain and simple. Don’t do it!
Believe it or not, not doing social media right can actually harm your business.
